To wear the mask, I sewed a strap with clips for the back of my head. Because the form was cardboard, the mask itself was not that heavy and did not need any further support to keep it on my head.

I used hot glue to add the lenses into the eye sockets. Because there was not much ventilation in the mask, I needed to put a light layer of soap on the inside of the lenses to keep them from fogging up from my breath.

A very simple priest's tunic was needed, as well as the faux leather cowl and flat top hat. These were very easy to sew without a pattern and I don't believe need much elaboration.

I began the process of making the mask by measuring the area of my face, then building an open profile from cardboard. Once I established that the base covered my face, I added the beak and combined both pieces with black duct tape. This would also give added structure to the form.

I carefully traced the shapes of the beak side profile, under the beak, sides of the face, around the eyes, and forehead onto black leather. Using embroidery thread, I sewed the pieces of the mask pattern directly onto the mask in order to secure the faux leather.

Once the pattern was sewed on, I added leather studs to fix the corners of leather to the cardboard form and ensure there was no movement from the gap between the form and the leather.
